The Lomé Diplomatic Club (CDL), initiated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Robert Dussey, welcomed Racheeda Boukezia, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Representative in Togo, on Thursday evening for a conference held under the theme: “From Bretton Woods to the 21st Century: The IMF Confronting Its History.”
Before an audience of diplomats and experts, Ms. Racheeda Boukezia shared her analytical perspective on the role of the institution in the global economy, particularly in Africa a continent at the heart of the Fund’s priorities amid challenges related to debt, inclusive growth, and climate resilience.
The conference took place in a context of particular relevance for Togo, where the IMF is highly active through its Extended Credit Facility (ECF) programme, which supports the government in its economic and fiscal reforms, the strengthening of financial governance, and the consolidation of macroeconomic stability.
