Togo and Cambodia take a decisive step in their bilateral relations

As part of a significant official visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Togo, Prof. Robert Dussey, met with his Cambodian counterpart, H.E. Mr. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in Phnom Penh on March 19, 2025.

This bilateral meeting, which was part of the commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two nations, was crowned by two major achievements:

The signing of a visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic and service passports, thus facilitating official exchanges between our administrations.

The conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at the overall strengthening of bilateral relations, laying the foundations for enhanced strategic cooperation.

At the heart of the discussions: the development of economic cooperation, regular political consultations, and the expansion of trade opportunities between Togo and Cambodia. These agreements demonstrate our mutual commitment to building lasting and mutually beneficial partnerships. Togolese diplomacy is thus pursuing its strategy of opening up and diversifying its international partnerships, in line with the vision of development and South-South cooperation promoted by the President of the Republic. This historic visit paves the way for deeper collaboration between our two countries, in the interest of our peoples and for a more united world.
