Professor Robert DUSSEY, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Togolese Abroad, conducted an official visit to the Agency on March 11, 2020
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna.

During this visit, the Minister met with the Director General of the IAEA, Mr. Rafael Mariano Grossi. On this occasion, the two personalities were delighted to meet again and to be able to exchange views to give a new perspective to relations and cooperation between the Agency and Togo.

Mr. Grossi took this opportunity to salute the good relations that his institution and Togo maintain and underlined the Agency’s availability to pursue enhanced cooperation with Togo in areas particularly affecting development. Minister Dussey, for his part, reiterated his sincere and warm congratulations to Mr. Grossi on his election to the head of the IAEA’s general management and assured him of the perfect collaboration of Togo for the success of his mandate.

He also requested assistance from the Agency in matters of health, training and agriculture, in particular for the benefit of Togo. To all the requests made, the Director-General expressed his agreement. With particular regard to corona virus, he indicated the availability of his Organization to assist the Togolese Government in the effective management of this disease.

In addition, Minister Dussey met with Mr. Dazhu Yang, Director of Technical Cooperation, with whom he signed the National Framework Program 2020-2025 which
defines, with the nuclear law, the management, use of nuclear materials and the application of nuclear and radiological technology at the national level for the promotion
economic and social development.
