During the audience, the Egyptian diplomat presented the certified copies of her letters of credence. This step marks an important stage in the process by which Cairo’s representative in Lomé takes up her duties.

The discussions focused on the state of bilateral relations and their prospects. Both officials stressed the need to consolidate the ties of friendship and cooperation between Togo and Egypt, while pursuing initiatives in areas of common interest.

The meeting reflects the two countries’ declared resolve to strengthen their partnership and give fresh momentum to their cooperation. It also underscores the importance attached to diplomatic dialogue and to the development of relations between Lomé and Cairo.

On this occasion, Robert Dussey wished Shahinaz Mahmoud Mohamed Abuseri every success in carrying out her mission. He reaffirmed the Togolese Government’s readiness to support her in the fulfilment of her responsibilities.
