The visit to Lome by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot provided an opportunity on Friday for a working meeting between the two foreign ministers. “Our discussions allowed us to examine issues of mutual interest, both bilaterally and multilaterally,” said Robert Dussey, describing the meeting as “very fruitful.” This visit builds on the historic and multifaceted ties that unite France and Togo, and reflects the two countries’ shared commitment to further strengthening their relations of friendship and cooperation. The visit reaffirms, once again, the special place Lomé holds in French diplomacy in West Africa, and Togo’s growing role as a key partner on regional and international issues. On Thursday, Mr. Barrot was received by S.E.M. Faure Essozimna GNASSINGBE.
